12 years. I count myself rather lucky to have found you to have chosen you to have been chosen by you to watch you grow and live. 12 years of headbutts and 3am zoomies and little paw pats for attention. 12 years of watching the "ghost flies" and love nips and not playing with your toys but loving shiny chains. 12 years of tuna water but never tuna fish and egg yolk off my fingers and sandpaper kisses for seemingly no reason. 12 years of claws digging into skin and paws kneading biscuits in my sweater and cuddling in bed together. 12 years of soft mews. 12 years of 'I love you's.

I Hate Phones (And Other Crap)

We're reading To Kill A Mockingbird in class and I've been called on to read and while I can read it aloud perfectly fine all by myself in my room, I bite my lip. I pause and I swallow a couple times and my hands get all hot and sweaty. My nickname Streetlight comes in handy here and my cheeks flush bright red and my breath comes a lot less easily. I put it off for as long as I can, but I start reading before my teacher thinks I didn't hear her. Everyone looks back at me for a second as I stutter to a start and then turns back around, but it feels like they're still staring at me. My sentences come out a little choppy, but it works out okay b

The song is on repeat. I look at the clock and see it reading 11:55 and do the math in my head. It's almost automatic now. I know that ten o'clock here is six o'clock there. The sun's probably up by now, if you can see it through the clouds. Scottish weather is like what people think Washington is like. We actually only have rain about 65% of the time while they have it about 85-90% of the time. It's kinda funny 'cause right now we're havin' a heat wave and Scotland, or at least Glasgow, has rain. It's now 11:58 and I've spent three minutes on that last paragraph. Now the song's repeating again and I can't think of how to phrase anything bet

I've officially been on here over 10 years. How bizarre! It both feels like just yesterday & like a whole couple lifetimes ago. So much has gone on and changed since I first started this account. So many different stages of my life are on here, emotions through various relationships both romantic and not, OCs that I no longer know because I've not written about or even thought of them for years now, friends I used to be so close with on here are no longer. Not to mention... it's a weird moment to get back onto a site you used to spend every night on & suddenly not know how to edit your own About Me. 😂 I had to go to the Help section! Is this what it feels like to be "old" as preteen me would have seen it? Oh my.

Personally, I still have my ups and downs, but my ups fly higher and my downs don't drop as low anymore, so that's some sorta improvement. My writing has gone from depressing poetry to focusing on characters and lore. I am working on my vampyre story still [yep, over a decade later] but it's changed so much I don't think most will recognize it when it comes out. I'll likely share bits & pieces that aren't part of the main here because I'd like to eventually publish one day.

I have a shop now ~ I sell handmade bar soap, body custards and room spray. I stay away from plastic packaging whenever possible & away from palm oil as well as coconut and its derivatives always, so those with sensitivities or allergies to coconut can use my soaps & other products without worry. I'm not a vegan or even vegetarian company but I do have some vegetarian and vegan options. I created this business for the artistry of creating, being safe for those with particular sensitivities and also to help people in my Nation & Worldwide. This is just the beginning. Follow my biz on social medias listed to see product photos and such. [2023 UPDATE: My shop is on pause. For how long, I don't know, but probably a couple years until I can afford to trademark my new name and do other legal things and have the separate space necessary to reopen it. It'll definitely be back though. It's my first love and my strongest passion].

I knew he'd probably die while I was down here, I knew I likely wouldn't be there when he passed. I didn't know that I'd lose him before being able to visit one more time. Before being able to hold him and love on him and feel his little sandpaper kisses on my cheeks again and see him run to the door when I came in because he's excited to see me... Selfishly, I wish he'd held on a little bit longer. Just long enough that I could see him and hold him one more time and tell

Six months later & my heart still aches reading through this but life has continued on. I'm in therapy for the first time in my entire life and probably could have used it back in September when he passed. Probably could've used it in 2022 when my dad was diagnosed with MS. Probably could've used it in 2019 when I became single again for the first time in six years -- and, really, the first time in like eight years because let's be honest, I was only single for like six months between long term, LDR number one and long term LDR number two. But I'll talk about all of that in due time. Probably. Maybe I'll just write it into a journal and let the journal speak for me, lol. Anyway, all this to say that the little cat shaped hole is still there but it festers less often than it did when it was fresh and I'm continuing on with life even if it's hard and I'm tired sometimes. ~Squirrel.

Trying to write a bit of my fanfics/trauma drama Dreame-type novella or world-build my original work (which has, yes, become singular - I've meshed them all into the same universe but different time periods/locations so it's a dystopian/supernatural/realistic fiction/post-war-post-apocalyptic thing) but all I really wanna do is listen to this on repeat. Something about it is making my ears very happy today, lol.
